A portal scraper reclaimer combines the flexible operating and good blending capabilities of portal and bridge reclaimers respectively.

With the reclaim boom in the horizontal position the unit operates as a bridge reclaimer recovering material from the end of the stockpile. When the one end of the boom is raised the unit can operate like a portal reclaimer.
